Zyrtec launches story book to raise awareness of allergy symptoms with Publicis Groupe Australia

Zyrtec Australia has teamed up with celebrity mother of two, Phoebe Burgess, to raise awareness of the causes and symptoms of childhood illness in a new campaign for Publicis Groupe Australia.

The hay fever and allergy brand has worked with Phoebe to produce a new storybook aimed at parents or carers of children under six, called Hide and Sneeze by Zach and Zoe. This story is inspired by her experience raising children with allergic rhinitis and will be offered as a free gift with the purchase of Zyrtec products at select pharmacies.

Allergic rhinitis results in symptoms that can include sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes. Although most Aussies have heard of hay fever, allergic rhinitis symptoms can be triggered year-round by things like dust, pet dander and mould.

Although studies show that children are just as likely to suffer from the condition as adults (56% vs. 58%), a recent survey of 1,000 Australian parents commissioned by Zyrtec found almost 40% are completely unaware of the common possibilities. which affects children. The symptoms of allergic rhinitis can be confused with the common cold. Because allergic rhinitis can be controlled, it can cost parents hundreds of dollars each year to take their children out of daycare due to misdiagnosis.

Based on the bedtime story of many young families, an opportunity was identified for Zyrtec to enter the nighttime culture and help bridge the knowledge gap for parents by using the book as a way to open conversations with children. they see through illness.

Oliver Wright, Director of Kenvue Australia’s Self Care Business Unit said, “Zyrtec Storytime seeks to close the allergic rhinitis awareness gap in parents, which can lead to confusion about symptoms and misdiagnosis. Our research found that almost two-thirds of Aussie parents have taken their child out of school or childcare due to allergic rhinitis-related symptoms, resulting in out-of-pocket costs.By Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze and the Publicis Groupe joint campaign, we are excited to use the bedtime story tradition as an opportunity for families to learn about rhinitis through storytelling.

This awareness campaign and based on a clear understanding that many parents can relate to, giving them the opportunity to communicate with their children about the effects of illness through telling good stories. After three years of cooperation with Kenvue, we are delighted to continue to innovate and explore new ways to put the power of everyday care in the hands of their customers.”

The multi-faceted national campaign will include professional health care packages for pharmacists to distribute to parents to develop and provide education. It will also be supported by PR and media operations and a social media partnership with independent women’s media group, Mamamia.

The campaign was produced by Publicis Groupe Australia’s integrated agency solution for Kenvue, which includes talent from agencies Spark Foundry, Leo Burnett, Herd MSL and Arc Worldwide.

Illustrated by Simon Greiner, Zach and Zoe’s Hide and Sneeze will be available as a free gift with any purchase at Zyrtec Chemist Warehouse, Terry White Chemmart and other independent pharmacies, from September 1st while stocks last it ends.
